Word count divided by reading speed. The average adult reads about 230 words per minute. Images add a few seconds each.
How many words is a 1-minute speech or video?
About 130 to 150 words. This tool uses 140 words per minute for speaking time.
How long does it take to read 1,000 words?
About 4 to 5 minutes at an average reading speed, and about 7 minutes to say aloud.
How many words fit in a 60-second reel?
About 120 to 140 words if you speak the whole time. Leave a little room for pauses and on-screen text.
Should I add reading time to my blog?
It can help. A short label like "5 min read" sets expectations. Many WordPress themes and plugins can show it automatically.
