- B2B – Business-to-business marketing. B2B SEO targets specialist decision-makers with a longer purchasing cycle and more costly products and services.
- B2C – Business-to-consumer marketing. B2C SEO targets regular consumers with generally shorter purchasing cycles.
- Backlink – A link from one website to another. Google uses backlinks as a rating signal. High-quality backlinks improve a site ranking and popularity in search results.
- Baidu – China most popular search engine, created in January 2000 by Robin Li and Eric Xu.
- Bing – Microsoft search engine, launched in June 2009. Since 2010, Bing has also powered Yahoo organic search results.
- Black Box – A complex programming system where inputs and outputs are visible but the procedure itself is not accessible (for example, Google algorithm).
- Black Hat SEO – Tactics that violate Google Webmaster Guidelines and carry risk of ranking penalties.
- Blog – A collection of content arranged chronologically with the most recent content appearing first. Can be written by an individual author or a group of contributors.
- Bounce Rate – The percentage of visitors who leave a website after viewing only one page without taking any action.
- Breadcrumbs – A navigational aid that shows users and search engines the path from the homepage to the current page.
